PRINTING SUGGESTION
To turn these into signs at the lowest cost, have them printed on bond paper (approximately $8) and then mount them on board yourself. Here's how to do it:
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Smooth cardboard. foamcore, or poster board
Make sure it is at least 1 in. larger on each side than your print.
- Can of spray mount adhesive - 3M Super 77 or similar.
- 36 in. metal straight edge if available or a cheap yardstick will do.
- Mat knife, box cutter or X-Acto knife
- Flat burnisher - a few dollars at any art or crafts store.
PROCEDURE:
- Lay your board down on a flat surface.
- Position your print face down on the board.
- Spray an even coat of adhesive
on the back of your print
making sure you cover all the way to the edges.
- For this step it's best to have two people:
Carefully lift your print and turn it over but do not put it down yet.
There's no rush, the adhesive will work even after it dries.
- Working the shorter sides, have one person hold the opposite edge off the board. Gradually lower the working edge allowing only an inch or two to make contact.
Do not worry about it being square to the edges of the board.
- Burnish from side to side to adhere the print and work out any wrinkles.
Continue to lower the opposite edge until the print is completely attatched.
- Use your straight edge and knife to trim the board and print together.
